Owensboro Symphony Music Director and Conductor Troy Quinn and members of the Symphony’s brass and percussion sections will be featured guests on the St. Stephen Arts at the Cathedral Series on Sunday afternoon March 8, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. The program will feature some of the best pomp and celebratory nature of brass, percussion and organ in tandem.
The program will open with American composer and conductor Z Randall Stroope’s Fanfare from Cantus Natalis. This four movement work written for brass, percussion and organ will feature the Cathedral’s Director of Music and Organist, James Wells. The program will continue with Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, followed by several works by Giovanni Gabrieli and conclude with a ceremonial work by Richard Strauss.
St. Stephen Cathedral is located at 610 Locust Street in downtown Owensboro. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations of any size will be graciously accepted and directly benefit the Arts at the Cathedral Series.
